Myanmar Telco/Ntegrator/MDR

Myanmar Telco/Ntegrator/MDR: Likely Positive sentiment, after Myanmar's govt took a first step toward liberalizing its telco sector by inviting investment proposals from local and foreign co’s for nationwide telecommunications services including telephone and internet connectivity. Expressions of interests should be submitted no later than Jan 25 and that two co's will be awarded licenses. There are also plans to transform the state Myanmar Posts and Telecommunications Department into an independent entity to be called Myanmar Telecoms. SG Co’s which comes to mine are Ntgerator and MDR. Both of which had positive corporate newsflows overnight: Ntegrator – Grp announced that it has secured new contracts worth approximately $11.7m from Myanmar Radio and Television and the Viettel Group of Co’s (Largest mobile network operator in Vietnam) Work on the new contracts are scheduled to be completed in 2013, and are expected to contribute positively to the Grp’s financial performance in FY13. For a brief recap on Ntegrator, the grp designs, installs and implements data, video, fibre optic, wireless and cellular net work infrastructures as well as voice communication systems, making it a potential play on the expansion and renewal of Myanmar’s decrepit telecoms net works. CEO note in past interviews that over the coming 2-3yrs time, Myanmar could account for more then 1/3 of Ntegrator’s rev, making Myanmar the firm’s second largest source of rev after Vietnam. MDR – Riding on the Myanmar story, the grp has incorporated a subsidiary in Myanmar that will spearhead its push into a market. The new co, with a paid-up and issued capital of US$50,000, will provide after-sales services of telecommunication devices to consumers in Myanmar. Grp will also be involved in the mobile devices and accessories distribution and retail businesses via its provision of exclusive consultancy and retail franchisee procurement services to Myanmar-based Golden Myanmar Sea (GMS).
